About Lcd:-It stands for liquid crystal display. In the early days of LCD, they used 2 plates of glass with almost invisible circuit traces on the inside of them, and then had a clear liquid put between them. Light would easily pass through and thus a blank screen. But when an AC (alternating current or power) was placed across the circuitry, it would cause the liquid to turn black and thus now you see an image. Create enough of these black spots, or pixels or segments as we called them, and now you can create an image, like what you see now on your computer screen. The early LCDs were black and white only. Later colour would be made available, and they went from using AC power to create the image, to realizing they could also use pulsating DC (direct current, like from a battery) to create the images. By putting a reflective surface at the back of the display, along with an ultrathin fluorescent light tube on the side (much like those we see in office buildings but smaller), they were able to light up the display in all sorts of lighting conditions.
